Airport Arrival Guide for Corporate Travellers to Cairo

How to plan a smooth business arrival in Cairo: information to share before the flight, what meet and greet can and cannot do, and how to connect the airport with the rest of the trip.

A good business trip starts at the airport. For a visiting executive, a consultant or a new expatriate, the first hour in Cairo sets the tone. This guide explains how companies can plan arrivals that are calm, punctual and well connected to the rest of the visit.

Entry requirements such as visas depend on nationality and change from time to time. Always confirm current requirements with official Egyptian sources or your travel management company before travel.

Before the flight: what to share

  • Passenger name(s) exactly as on the passport
  • Airline, flight number, date and scheduled arrival time
  • Number of passengers and approximate luggage
  • Destination after arrival and any time-critical meetings
  • A contact number that works on arrival
  • Any assistance needs, such as mobility support or child seats

What meet and greet does

A meet and greet service arranges for a representative to meet the traveller at an agreed point, help them through the arrival process where permitted, assist with baggage and connect them with a waiting driver. For executives and new arrivals, it removes uncertainty at the end of a long journey.

What it does not do

No service provider can bypass immigration, customs or security procedures. Services inside restricted terminal areas, such as fast-track or lounge access, are provided by authorised airport providers where available and depend on airport rules and eligibility. Be wary of anyone promising otherwise.

Connecting the airport to the visit

Arrivals work best when the airport, vehicle and programme are planned together:

  • Driver tracking the flight so delays do not leave the traveller waiting
  • Vehicle sized for passengers and luggage
  • Water, Wi-Fi or a local SIM arranged if useful
  • Hotel or residence briefed on the arrival time
  • A simple first-day plan shared in advance

For new expatriates

For employees relocating to Egypt, the airport is the first step of a longer journey. Combine meet and greet with transport to temporary accommodation and a short orientation the next day. Read more about expatriate services.

Departures

Plan departures with the same care: agreed pick-up times that allow for traffic, help with luggage and check-in guidance where permitted.
